Ducsu polls: Probe body to investigate ‘irregularities’

DHAKA: Dhaka University (DU) authorities have formed a probe body to investigate the allegations of irregularities in DU Central Student Union election (Ducsu) and hall union polls.

The seven-member committee has been asked to submit the probe report within seven working days, said a press release of public relations department of Dhaka University on Thursday (March 21).

Dhaka University Mathematics Department Professor Sajeda Banu was made the convener of the investigation committee.

The members are Deans of Biology Faculty professor Md. Imdadul Haque, Sir P. J. Hartog International Hall provost Md Mohiuddin, Professor of Department of Economics Dr. Shafiq uz Zaman, syndicate member Mohammad Humayun Kabir and Professor of Nutrition and Food Science Institute Sharmin Rumi Alim.

Assistant proctor of the university Md. Maksudur Rahman was made the member secretary of the committee.

Dhaka University Central Students’ Union and its hall unions’ elections were held on Monday (March 12) amid allegations of vote rigging and grass irregularities.

Quota reformists’ leader Nurul Haq Nur takes top post of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) candidate Golam Rabbani bagged the post of general secretary.
