DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Newly-elected vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur formally announced that he would take charge of his post.

The first executive meeting of Ducsu is scheduled to be held on March 23.

Hasan Al Mamun, convener of Nur's panel Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, at a press conference at Madhur Canteen on Friday (March 22) afternoon, made the formal announcement. 

They decided in principle on taking over charge by Nurul Haque Nuru as VP and Akhter Hossain as social service secretary of Ducsu after a discussion with panel members and taking opinion of other agitating platforms.

Addressing the press meet, VP Nur said the expectations of the nation have not long been fulfilled over the Ducsu elections that took place after 28 years. I will take the charge to show respect to the opinion of the students who voted for me amid allegation of gross irregularities. 

“I want to work for the students. The demand for re-election will also continue”, he added.
