Met office predicts light to moderate rain over country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted light to moderate rain likely to occur at most places over two divisions, few places over three divisions and even moderately heavy falls likely over three coastal divisions across the country for the next 24 hours beginning from 9 on Tuesday (October 8) morning.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country", a Met office bulletin said.

Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 35.0 degree Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was recorded 23.5 degree Celsius at Netrakona.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 16 millimeters (mm) at Tangail.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The sun sets today at 05.39 pm and rises at 05.53 am tomorrow in the capital.
