President reaches Nilgiri

BANDERBAN: President Abdul Hamid has reached Nilgiri of Bandarban on a tour on Wednesday evening.

He started from Khagrachhari by a helicopter and reached to Nilgiri, which is 47-km from Bandarban Sadar.

Banderban’s Superintendent of Police Devdas Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to banglanews.

President will spend the night at the army operated resort Nilgiri, considered as the most attractive tourist spot in Banderban, about 3000 feet above the sea level.

He will return to Dhaka on Thursday morning.

Nilgiri army camp and its adjacent area were adorned with traditional ethnic motifs of that area on the occasion of the President’s tour.

Banderban Deputy Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam said that strict security measures have been taken in the district for the tour.

Abdul Hamid is traveling Banderban for the first time after assuming the charge of presidency.
