SAVAR: A man was killed and five others were injured in a road accident in Ulail bus stand area on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar, on outskirt of Dhaka, early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mofijul Islam, 28, an auto-rickshaw driver and son of Khokon Munshi, hailed from Jhenaidah district.

Witnesses said that a passenger bus collided head on with a truck in the area as bus driver lost his control over the steering and rammed into a food center where some people were having food around 12:45am, leaving Mofijul dead on the spot and injured five others.

On information, police recovered the body and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. However, the injured were rushed to hospitals.

Police seized the bus and truck in this connection.

Savar thana Sub-Inspector of Muhammad Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
