180 Army fly for UN mission in Congo

DHAKA: A Battalion of 180 members of Bangladesh Army on Friday flew for Congo on United Nations peace mission.

Lieutenant Colonel M Kabirul Islam is leading the squad.

However, two battalion of Bangladesh Army have already been operating UN peacekeeping Program under five-contingent in Congo.

Director of Engineering Division of Cantonment Brigadier General M Saifur Rahman came at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to see off the squad.

Bangladesh Army contributed so far to various UN peacekeeping operations with honor and dignity. Moreover, Bangladesh contributed the second highest number of total personnel to United Nations Peacekeeping Operations.
