DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed authorities concerned to ensure safety, work environments, training and appropriate wage of workers.    

The premier came up with the directives in a meeting with ministers and secretaries at Labour Ministry on Sunday morning.  

Sheikh Hasina said that the government is working for workers interest and it is workers friendly government.

Mentioning various steps of the government on workers, the prime minister said, “We increased the salary of workers to Tk 5,300 in 2013 which was Tk 930 in 1996.”

Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, State Minister for Labour Mazibul Haque Chunnu, among others, were present in the meeting.
