The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated an investigation into allegations of abuse of power, criminal misconduct, forgery, and financial fraud related to the 2028 Jatiya Sangsad elections.
ACC Director General (Prevention) Akhtar Hossain confirmed the move at a briefing today, revealing numerous complaints received by the commission, many of which were covered in the media.
The allegations include vote rigging, ballot fraud, inflated voter turnout, and financial irregularities during the elections.
The investigation will focus on key figures, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League leaders, and high-level government officials such as former IGP Mohammad Javed Patwary and DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, who are suspected of involvement in the alleged irregularities.
A five-member investigation committee has been formed to scrutinize media reports, election results, and other relevant activities.
The committee is expected to submit its findings after a thorough examination.
