DHAKA: Three people were severely burnt as a gas cylinder of a car exploded in the city’s Shyamoli area on Sunday night.

The injured were identified as band musician Tanjib Ahmed, 32, businessman Ajadur Rahman Shimul, 30, and car-driver Hafiz Uddin. They were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, medical sources said.

The driver said while he was on the move from Motijheel to Mirpur with two passengers, “suddenly the cylinder exploded near Shyamoli traffic signal”.
