DHAKA: Two officials of the US Embassy in Dhaka on Tuesday evening visited the office of banglanews24.com.bd, an online news portal and sister concern of East West Media group under Bashundhara Group.

The two-member delegation led by US Embassy Political and Financial counselor Jon Danilowicz also visited Bengali daily Kaler Kantha and the Daily Sun under the company at the time. US embassy Press Officer Patricia A Hill was present with him.

While going around banglanews24com.bd office Jon Danilowicz expressed his deep interest in online news media and said this is going to be “the best media” for the future generation.

Earlier, the US embassy officials held a courtesy meeting with the Group officials and exchanged views on various aspects and role of Bangladeshi media. East West Media Group Chairman Mostafa Kamal Mohiuddin delivered his welcoming speech. 

Jon Danilowicz also expressed his satisfaction over the activities of Bangladeshi media and urged their help in strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Present among others were East West Media Group Chairman Mostafa Kamal Mahiuddin, Editor-in-Chief of banglanews24.com.bd Alamgir Hossain, Editor of the Daily Sun professor Syed Anwar Hossain, Editor of Daily Bangladesh Protidin Shahjahan Sardar, Bashundhara Group Press and Media Adviser Mohammad Abu Tayeb, Executive Director of the East West Media Group Col. (Ret.) Abdul Wahid Khan and Vice-President of Global Alliance for Homeland Security Golam Mehraz.
