NARSINGDI: At least seven people were killed and another seven injured as a bus rammed a pickup van on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Shibpur on Thursday afternoon.

According to witnesses, a Dhaka-bound bus from Bhairab hit the pickup van at Kundarpara at about 3pm, leaving four people dead on the spot.

Among the injured, three succumbed to their injuries on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The injured were admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.

OC Mojibur Rahman Majumder of Shibpur Police Station told banglanews that the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

"The bodies, which were kept in the thana, would be sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy in the evening", he added.
