Moinuddin Abdullah, son of former chief whip Abul Hasnat Abdullah, was taken on a five-day police remand today in Jubo Dal leader Shamim murder case filed with city’s Paltan thana.
IO of the case produced him before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Ragib Noor and prayed for 10-day remand.
Lawyer of Moinuddin Abdullah, prayed for bail and opposed the remand prayer. The court rejected the bail petition and asked for putting him on a five-day remand.
Police arrested Sherniabat Moinuddin Abdullah from city’s Gulshan area on Friday night.
Police said he was arrested for his suspected involvement in the killing of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal (JCD) leader Shamim murder in city’s Paltan area on October 28, 2023 during Dhaka Siege programme of BNP.
Family members of Shamim, filed the murder case with Paltan thana on September 24 last.
