BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today celebrated International Women's Day by sharing a heartfelt message about the most important women in his life—his mother, wife, and daughter.

In a post on his verified Facebook page, he emphasized his commitment to ensuring their success, happiness, and well-being, stating, "I am sure that many of you who are reading this cherish the same feeling."

Tarique Rahman recalled how, after the 1/11 political changeover, he fell ill due to government oppression and went to London for treatment, accompanied by his wife, Zubaida Rahman, and daughter, Zaima Rahman.

He also expressed his belief in empowering the young women and girls of Bangladesh, asserting that they deserve the support and opportunities to thrive.

He said that every woman should have the same dignity, protection, and opportunities as any man, adding, "On International Women's Day, I reaffirm that like the previous BNP government led by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, we will work tirelessly to create a just, tolerant and respectful society, where there will be no discrimination on the basis of gender, caste or religion."

Tarique Rahman further said the importance of equal rights for both men and women, advocating for girls to have equal opportunities and the freedom to express their views without fear.

He said BNP's initiatives, such as the 'Family Card' program, SME loans for women entrepreneurs, and educational projects aimed at empowering young women.

"Let us champion women's economic empowerment, political participation, and personal aspirations together," he added.
