DHAKA: Chhatra Shibir activists hurled a petrol bomb in a passenger bus at Gabtoli in the capital as Jamaat enforced day-2 hartal on Thursday.

Witnesses said Shibir activists brought out a sudden procession in the area at 10:10am and hurled a petrol bomb in a bus that left the bus on fire. They fled the scene blasting five cocktails.

Later locals doused the fire while police recovered three more fresh cocktails, said Officer-in-Charge of Darus Salam Thana Rafiqul Islam.

Jamaat, one of the key allies of BNP-led alliance, is observing the shutdown protesting the death sentence awarded to its acting secretary general ATM Azharul Islam for war crimes.
