CHITTAGONG: A Chhatra Shibir activist named Jubayer, 21, was run over by a truck when he tried to set fire to it at 6:00am Wednesday.

Witnesses said that a group of Shibir men tried to torch a truck in Chunti area on Dhaka-Chittagong highway. At that time the truck driver tried to escape the arson hurriedly, leaving Jubayer dead on the spot.

Assistant police super of Satkania circle AKM Emran Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

However police could not take the body for autopsy following pressure of locals and the body was taken by family members, he added.
