DHAKA: Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Wednesday alleged that BNP itself conducted the attack on former state minister for foreign affairs Reaz Rahman.

He came up with the remarks at a press conference at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi in the city.

The BNP leader said, “The attack on Reaz is a part of Khaleda’s political blue print and BNP’s countrywide violence and the party itself carried out the attack.”

On Tuesday, miscreants shot Reaz Rahman, adviser to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, in front of the Westin Hotel at Gulshan-2 of the city around 8:30pm on his way back from Khaleda’s office.

He is now undergoing treatment at United Hospital of the city.
