DHAKA: Miscreants set fire to a private car and a truck in Jorpukurpar of city’s Khilgaon area on Thursday hours before the beginning of 20-party alliance-called hartal, amid the 10th day of nationwide indefinite blockade.

The arson attack took place around at 4:40am.

Being informed, two units of Fire Services and Civil Defense rushed to the spot and doused the flame.

Fire Service control room duty officer Bhajankumar Sarkar confirmed the matter to banglanews.

No casualty was reported in the attack, Sarkar said.

A dawn-to-dusk hartal, called by the BNP-led alliance, is underway across the country protesting the attack on Reaz Rahman, an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and also former state minister for foreign affairs.
