DHAKA:  Police detained chairman of Bangladesh Labour Party Dr Mostafizur Rahman Iran from city’s Paltan area on Thursday noon.

Sources said the chief of Labor Party, one of the allies of BNP-led 20-party alliance, was picked up by Paltan thana police at 1:30pm on his way to his political office located in Culvert Road area.

Iran himself confirmed the mater of his detention to reporters over phone.
