KHULNA: Police detained 21 persons including three of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir in Khulna Metropolitan City of the district.

They were held in several drives conducted from Friday evening to Saturday morning across the city.

Police said that 18 of them were arrested in regular cases while three BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men on suspicion.

Moreover, police recovered two pipe-guns, 2 cocktails and six rounds of bullets from Arangghata Thana and a piece of machete and 4 rounds of bullets from Khulna Sadar Thana area.

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Special Branch (SB) Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Moniruzzaman Mithu confirmed the matter to banglanews at 10:30am on Saturday.
