DHAKA: Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain along with an eight-member delegation on Saturday left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia.
He will hold separate bilateral meetings with the ministers of labour and health, crown prince and with the governors of Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina, and Dammam on decreasing the immigration cost, raising the workers’ level of efficiency and their rights and welfare.
The minister also will hold meetings with Bangladeshi workers living in Saudi Arabia.
Senior secretary to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) M Abul Kalam Azad, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment ministry secretary Khandaker M Iftekhar Haider, Director General of Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) Begum Samsun Nahar, additional secretary to home Mostafa Kamal Uddin, joint secretary to Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment ministry M Nurul Islam and director general of foreign ministry M Nazmul Islam also went with the minister.
He is scheduled to return on January 24.
