DHAKA: Local units of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) separately called daylong hartal in Noakhali and Rajbari districts respectively for Sunday and Monday.

The shutdown, however, will be enforced in the districts protesting the confinement of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to her Gulshan office and detention of senior BNP leaders and demanding election under nonpartisan and neutral caretaker government.

Banglanews correspondents from Noakhali and Rajbari said both the districts’ top leaders confirmed the announcement of the hartal.
