DHAKA: Food Minister and also Dhaka city Awami League joint general secretary Quamrul Islam said that no more chance will be given to BNP to create violence in the name of rally as a religious group Hefajat-e-Islam did it earlier.
He came up with the assertion in a discussion in city’s Shegun Bagicha area on Saturday.
The AL lawmaker also said that BNP is waiting to meet their last target. They did not remain calm even during Biswa Ijtema, he added.
BNP will not get any opportunity to create anarchy by holding a rally, the minister said.
Terming BNP a ‘terrorist’ organization, he said that no dialogue will be held with them. They will be treated in the same way as they behave, he added.
The minister further said, “I salute the Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Azia Ahmed for his comment against blockaders.”
According to Quamrul, BNP will not be able to continue its movement anymore after 7-10 days.
BNP thinks that the foreign diplomats will help them but in reality, they will not get any support from them, he claimed.
Terming the current situation as similar to a war against BNP, the minister urged his party leaders and activists to protest the violence of BNP.
He also called his party people to hand the wrongdoers over to the law enforcers.
Ruling 14-party alliance vice-president Dr Enamul Haque chaired the program, attended by Dhaka University Teachers Association general secretary Dr Akhtaruzzaman and other senor alliance leaders, among others.
