RAJSHAHI: BNP-led 20-party alliance called a 36-hour nonstop hartal from Sunday in eight districts of Rajshahi division.

The alliance called the hartal protesting the killing of Matiur Rahman, 25, vice-president of union unit Chhatra Dal.

Earlier on Friday, he was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between his associates and members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Shyampur union under Shibganj of Capainawabganj district.

BNP organizing secretary of the divisional unit Harun-or-Rashid confirmed the matter to banglanews on Saturday afternoon.
