BOGRA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) district unit extended the hartal time in Bogra from previously declared 36 to 48 hours from Sunday.

District BNP president and also 20-party alliance convener Saiful Islam made the announcement in a rally in Matidali Airport intersection of the district around 11:30am Sunday.

According to the new declaration, the hartal in the district will be observed till 6:00pm Tuesday.

District BNP vice-president Ali Asgar Talukder Hena, Sadar Thana BNP president Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel and District Mahila Dal president Lovely Rahman, among others, were present at the rally.

Earlier on Friday, BNP announce 36-hour hartal in eight district of Rajshahi division including Bogra.
