DHAKA: BNP alleged on Monday (Dec 17) that Detective Branch (DB) of police detained the party’s central co-organizing secretary (Dhaka division) Shahidul Islam Babul from Dhaka’s Mohakhali.  

“We got the news a little earlier that DB detained Shahidul Islam Babul,” Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told banglanews.

“I are strongly condemning and protesting his detention and demanding his immediate release,” he added.  

However, BNP is reiterating allegations that its leaders and activists are facing large-scale obstructions while electioneering across the country.
