Govt takes tough stance to prevent rumor Obaidul Quader speaking to reporters

DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the government has taken a tough stance towards lynching incidents so that they do not happen any longer after spreading rumor.

“We have already taken some government and party steps. All MPs and party leaders have been directed to stay alert so as not to repeat such occurrences after circulating rumor,” Quader briefed media at the secretariat on Wednesday (July 24).

All MPs and party leaders have been directed to organize meetings, rallies in order to raise awareness among people, he said.

In response to question, he said a lot of incidents occurred recently. Investigation is underway to see if there are conspiracies against government or to make the country unstable.

Those who are responsible behind these occurrences will be brought to the book, he added.
