DHAKA: The government has confiscated bank accounts of expelled Jubo League chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury and his family members.
Abu Heena Mohammad Razi Hassan, head of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), confirmed the matter on Monday (Oct 21) evening.
Earlier on Oct 20, Omar Faruk Chowdhury has been expelled from the post of Jubo League chairman for his alleged involvement in corruptions.
The decision was taken at a meeting between Sheikh Hasina and central Jubo League leaders at Ganabhaban in Dhaka on Sunday, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader told journalists following the meeting.
