Rizvi, 9 others injured as police charge baton on procession

DHAKA: At least 10 leaders and activists of the BNP, including its senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, were injured as police reportedly charged baton on their procession in capital's Mirpur area on Saturday (Feb 22).

They brought out the procession around 11:00 am demanding release of party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and withdrawal of cases filed against the party acting chairman Tarique Rahman.

Condemning the police attack on BNP’s procession, Rizvi said the BNP's democratic movement cannot be curtailed by the incidents of attacks. The people of the country will come out any time to resist the current illegal government, he added.
