Bangladesh National Football team has performed well in the recently held SAFF Championship. After 14 years, the men in red-green confirmed semifinal match beating Maldives and Bhutan. 

In the semifinal match, Bangladesh performed magnificently against Kuwait. But finally, they were defeated by Kuwait.

Due to tremendous performance, Bangladesh advanced three steps (189th) in the updated FIFA rankings.

Earlier, Bangladesh ranked 192nd.
