On the other hand, both the matches of Australia’s first competitor India had both of its warm up matches against England at Guwahati and Netherlands at Thiruvananthapuram got washed out without a ball being bowled.

Yesterday at sun shining Hyderabad Australian batsmen made merry on batting paradise scoring at will. Several Australian batsmen Glen Maxwell (77), Cameroon Green 50, David Warner (48) ,Josh Inglis (48) ,Mitch Marsh (31) and Steve Smith (27) had very useful batting practice. All Pakistani bowlers struggled in containing free stroking Australians. Usama Mir with his loopy leg spins managed taking 2 wickets giving away 31 runs and Mohammad Newaz with the left arm spinners took 1 for 34. Australians punished Haris Rauf smashing him for 97 runs for his 1 wicket, Shadab Khan also leaked 69 runs for his lone wicket.

Chasing 352 to win against strong Australian bowling was a tall task. Yet Pakistan batted well riding on fluent 90 of Babar Azam. Had he not retired hurt giving opportunity to his teammates for batting Pakistan could have won the match. Iftikhar scored a breezy 83 and Mohammad Newaz impressed with 50. Pakistan fell short by 14 runs getting all out for 337. Part time spinner Marnus Labuschagne took 3 wickets giving away 78 runs, captain Pat Cummins took 2 wickets for 34 runs.

Australia is looking great. Their batsmen and bowlers appear on tune.
