Bangladesh will be looking to seal the ongoing five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe when they take on the visitors in the third match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.
The match is scheduled to start at 03pm (BST) and will be telecast live on T Sports.
The hosts are currently leading the series by a 2-0 margin after they won the opening two matches respectively by eight and six wickets.
Although Bangladeshi bowlers did an excellent job of restricting the
opponents to mediocre totals in both games, it appeared that they need to work more on their batting, apparently the way they chased targets of 125 and 139 runs respectively.
“Look, we always talking about improvement. Like, these games, as important as they are, they’re all a rehearsal for the World Cup. So, all we’re looking at is improvement,” fielding coach Nic Pothas said on Monday.
“We have our KPIs that we need our batsmen to hit. KPIs that remain within our change room that we’re trying to hit, but we’re always measuring improvements.
“The wicket is good but I think the first 10 overs for both sides, both wickets were challenging. I think it hasn’t been easy in the first 10 overs. We’ve bowled really, really well. So, we’ve managed to put the opposition a little bit behind.
“So that’s what we’ve done really well. But they’ve got two quality new ball bowlers as well. So, I think our guys have done well through that phase. But certainly, as much as the wicket looks good, it’s not that easy early on,” he said, adding that their first target is to win the series before starting any kind of experimentation.
