Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Ltd Dhaka made winning starts in the BFF U-18 Football League 2023-24 which began on Saturday after a long break of two seasons.
Last edition’s runners-up Kings beat Rahamatganj Muslim Friends Society by 2-1 goals at the Armed Police Battalion field in Uttara.
Shofiq Rahman and Asad Bhuiyan scored one each for Kings. Meanwhile, Dhaka Abahani beat Fortis Football Club by 2-0 goals at the Bashundhara Kings Arena practice ground.
In the day’s other match, defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club were held by Police FC 1-1 at the Government in Mohammadpur while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra played a goalless draw with Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Kings Arena practice ground.
Earlier this day, Bangladesh Football Federation’s Vice-president and Professional League Management Committee Chairman Imrul Hassan inaugurated the competition as the chief guest at the Bashundhara Kings Arena practice ground.
