Team Tigers made Bangladesh proud again. Outplaying strong Pakistan in all departments of the game on their own backyard Bangladesh won a fairy tale test match setting several milestones.

First ever test win and that two playing in Pakistan, first ever 10 wickets win against Pakistan by any team in Pakistan. The win was very sweet for a few other reasons as well. Bangladesh is now on the threshold of new beginning.

People of Bangladesh are now in great distress from a devastating flood sweeping across the Southeastern Region of Bangladesh. This win puts Bangladesh 1-0 ahead of the two matches test series creating a possibility for a series win or even earning a series whitewash.

Pakistan scored 448/6 before declaring their innings closed. Bangladesh replied scoring massive 565 all out. Brilliant Bangladeshi spin couple Mehidy Hasan Miraj ( 4/21 ) and Shakib Al Hasan (3/44) teasing and tormenting Pakistan crashed their second innings 146 all out. Bangladesh openers eased their way scoring 30/0 and earning the historic first win against Pakistan.

On a green top wicket under cloudy sky after rain delaying the start Nazmul Shanto winning the toss put Pakistan to bat. Shoriful and Hasan Mahmud exploiting whatever assistance that wicket provided pushed Pakistan back to the wall reducing them to 3/16. Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood and Babar Azam perished. Wicket became flat and docile.

Young Saim Ayub (56) provided the first resistance. But belligerent Mohammad Rizwan (171*) and Saud Sheel (141) scoring two big hundreds led Pakistan to 448/6 declared. Bangladesh however looked determined from the word go. Zakir and Shinto played early. But Shadman Islam (93), Mominul (50), Mushfique (191), Mehidy Miraj (77), Litton (55) all contributing massively led Bangladesh climbing the run mountain of 565 all out gaining match defining lead of 117. At stumps of day four none realized that 5th day will appear with bad omen for the home team.

Wicket that appeared so flat over day four started turning and bouncing. Bangladesh with two crafty spinners Mehedy Miraj (4/21) and Shakib Al Hasan (3/44) aided by some brilliant catching and fielding crashed Pakistan’s second innings to 146 all out. The home team could offer a nominal target of 30 to chase. Bangladesh openers galloped across with ease and comport.

After losing 12 and drawing 1 Bangladesh won its first test match against Pakistan and that too in their own den. For his brilliant innings of 191 Mushfiqur Rahim Bangladesh version of the little Master was adjudged player of the match.

In course of his innings, he also reached 25000 Milestone of international run. While taking 3/44 Shakib Al Hasan also became the highest wicket taker in international cricket as left arm spinner.
