Bangladesh Women's 'A' clinch ODI series win over Sri Lanka

The Bangladesh Women's 'A' team secured a seven-wicket win against Sri Lanka 'A' in the second 50-over match in Colombo on Tuesday, clinching the series after the first match was abandoned due to rain.

In a rain-shortened 20-over game, Bangladesh chased down a target of 114, led by opener Dilara Akter's quickfire 47 from 34 balls. She shared a pivotal 74-run stand with Murshida Khatun (30 off 34), making the chase comfortable despite Shamima Sultana's early run-out.

Sri Lanka 'A' managed to remove both Dilara and Murshida, but skipper Nigar Sultana Joty sealed the victory with an unbeaten 24 off 21 balls, wrapping it up in 18 overs.

Bangladesh fielded a full-strength squad, unlike Sri Lanka 'A', who were without players from their recent Ireland tour. Rabeya Khan captained the side, differing from the national team's usual lineup.

The series was part of Bangladesh's preparation for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE this October.
