DHAKA: After Bangladesh chess Grand Master (GM) Niaz Murshed’s beating Lee Qing Aun of Singapore in the 6th round matches of the 41st World Chess Olympiad in Tromso, Norway, the whole men’s team have turned around in the tournament.

Different media early Monday reports that Bangladesh men’s team returned to the winning form in the 7th round open section matches.

However, in the 7th round, Bangladesh GM Niaz Murshed again beat Grassi Enrico of San Marino, GM Ziaur Rahman beat Righi Ezio and another GM Enamul Hossain Razib defeated Cecchetti Roberto while IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar beat Maccapani Massimiliano.

After the 7th round matches, Bangladesh men’s team earned 7 match points and 15.5 game points in spite of Bangladesh Women’s team lost to Moldova by 1.5-2.5 points in the 7th round on Sunday.

In the 8th round matches Bangladesh men’s team has been scheduled to play against the Philippines while Bangladesh women’s team was scheduled to play Puerto Rico.
