Tigers take 4 Zimbabwe wickets

DHAKA: Bangladesh have taken four top order wickets of visiting Zimbabwe giving away 140-run after 32-over in the second one day international (ODI) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in city’s Mirpur area on Monday.

Mustafizur Rahman, Mashrafe Mortaza and Arafat Sunny took one wicket each while Ervine was run out thanks to brilliant fielding and direct throw by Liton Das.

Visitors’ captain Chigumbura and Sikandar Raza are on the crease with 41 and 25 runs respectively.

Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and invited Tigers to bat first in the day-night match, began at 1:00pm (Bangladesh time).

Bangladesh scored 241-run losing nine wickets after their 50-over quota.

Opener Imrul Kayes is dismissed securing 76 runs off 89 balls while Tamim Iqbal went back to pavilion after scoring 19 runs off 25 balls.

Nasir Hossain and Sabbir Rahman took 41 and 33 runs respectively helping the home side recover the loss of three wickets in quick succession.

T Panyangara took three wickets while T Muzarabani and AG Cremer grabbed two wickets each. Besides, LM Jongwe and SC Williams took one wicket each.

There is only one change for both sides. Imrul Kayes is in for Shakib-al-Hasan while Richmond Mutumbami, who picked up an injury in the previous game, has been replaced by Regis Chakabva.

Bangladesh are currently leading the three-match series 1-0 following beating Zimbabwe by 145-run in the first ODI at the same venue on Saturday.
