A total nine people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in sabotage of rail line.

The National Security Intelligence (NSI) and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 arrested them in a joint drives in Dhaka’s Airport railway station area on Thursday (December 22).

Lt Col Md Mushtaq Ahmed, RAB-1 commanding officer, said at a press conference at the station at night.

On Tuesday (19 December), four people including a mother and her son were killed as three compartments of Mohanganj Express train were set on fire in the city's Tejgaon around 5:04am.

The fire incident was an act of sabotage, Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman later said.
