DHAKA: A community policeman in Sutrapur thana area of Old Dhaka in the capital was killed.

Police recovered the body in city’s Sutrapur colony early Thursday.

The dead was identified as Abdul Barek, 45, a resident of the colony and hailed from Baufal upazila of Patuakhali.

Sutrapur thana sub-inspector Mohammad Jahir said they recovered the body from in front of the road of a printing factory in Debandranath Das lane at about 01:00am.

“Evidences of injury were found in the victim’s head and forehead. He might have been killed,” police said.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A case was filed with Sutrapur thana.
