DHAKA: Foreign Minister Dipu Moni Thursday called upon all concerned not to go abroad illegally, as unauthorized immigration created crisis on occasion.

Replying to a question on the return of Bangladeshi immigrants from Spain, she said those whose immigration process has started legally were not being sent back to the country.

“Not only Bangladeshis, Spain also sent back the illegal immigrants of other countries,” she told journalists in a press briefing at her ministry.

The minister said illegal immigrants have to face physical and mental torture along with huge financial loss.

“So they should not go abroad illegally,” said the FM.

Spain has sent back the illegal immigrants at its own cost.

She said she has discussed with the authorities concerned the matter of saving the Bangladeshis under the process of legalization.

“I discussed with the authorities concerned the imperative of taking skilled and un-skilled workers from Bangladesh during my visit to Spain in June,” the minister said.
