DHAKA: BNP has nominated their newly included leader Golam Maula Rony to contest in the 11th parliamentary elections from Patuakhali-3 constituency.
BNP leaders including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir handed over Rony the nomination letter soon after he joined BNP amid formal arrangements at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s political office in Gulshan Monday (Nov 26).
Columnist and a much-talked about politician Rony was elected a lawmaker from Patuakhali-3 constituency in 2008 national elections.
Afterwards, Awami League reportedly sacked him over controversies.
Rony, however, said he has resigned from Awami League from his own.
“I will stay involved in BNP’s politics forever,” he told reporters upon joining BNP.
Mirza Fakhrul said his party will evaluate Rony properly as his joining will accelerate their movement for democracy.
