 Dengue situation becomes dire: Quader

DHAKA:  Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said country’s dengue disease situation has taken an alarming turn and causing a matter of concern.

To counter this situation, a three-day cleanliness campaign will be launched by the Awami League alongside the government, said Obaidul Quader, also general secretary of ruling Awami League.

Obaidul Quader made this announcement at a press conference after the meeting of party's presidium members at the political office of the Awami League president at Dhanmondi in the capital on Monday (July 23).

Awami League leaders have been instructed to take part in the rally on 31 July, 1 and 2 August, from 11am to 12noon at the unions, upazilas and districts and upazilas including Dhaka, he added.

The AL general secretary said the program has been taken as per direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
