DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the ruling party will continue cleanliness program until the country is free from dengue and Aedes mosquitoes are destroyed.
"This time is very sensitive. Now indulging in much talk can bring bad upshot to the country. The countrymen should be saved from panic of dengue. We won't talk but work," he said.
Obaidul Quader, as the chief guest, was launching a cleanliness and awareness program organized by Awami League's Dhaka City North Unit, in front of Ananda Cinema Hall in Farmgate Saturday (August 3).
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also spoke at the event.
Quader further said a monitoring cell has been formed of the physicians upon direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina so that the dengue infected people get treatment and the disease is diagnosed properly.
AL Joint General Secretaries Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Ahmad Hossain and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam, among others, attended the occasion.
