GOPALGANJ: Awami League's Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim said a commission will be formed to identify the masterminds of murder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He said this after paying tribute to the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday (August 15).

Sheikh Selim said it was taking a while. We will try to find out who were mastermind of Bangabandhu murder through formation of an Inquiry Commission. After finding out, those will also be brought to book if necessary. 

There will be a chance for the nation to know who are behind the murder of Bangabandhu.

He said that it was shocking that Bangabandhu was murdered by his people, for whom he suffered, faced torture and oppression for his lifetime. The Pakistanis, however, did not dare to kill Bangabandhu.

Earlier on April 24, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in parliament said the government will form a commission to identify the masterminds of Bangabandhu’s murder.

“As per the information received by her government, a good number of local and foreign individuals, and agencies, were involved in the killing. So, we’re firmly determined to bring not only those who were directly involved in this heinous act, but also the cohorts and conspirators through this commission, she said.
