DHAKA: BNP has convened a meeting of its Standing committee members on Saturday (August 24).

The meeting will start at 5pm at BNP Chairperson's Gulshan Political Office. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to join the meeting through Skype from London.

Shairul Kabir Khan, media wing officer to Khaleda Zia, confirmed the matter to media.

The meeting will hold discussion on the demands of releasing Khaleda Zia from jail and her treatment, arranging rallies in divisional cities, Rohingya and Kashmir issues, court order to surrender 16 leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Jatiya Oikyafront, said party sources. 

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is expected to brief media after holding the meeting.
