Rumeen Farhana withdraws application for plot Rumeen Farhana

DHAKA: Barrister Rumeen Farhana, BNP’s reserved seat Member of Parliament (MP), has withdrawn her application to the government for a 10 katha plot in Purbachal residential area.

She sent a letter to Public Works and Housing Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Tuesday noon (August 27) seeking cancellation of the application.

BNP chairperson's media wing member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

SM Rezaul Karim said he didn’t get the letter yet. “But she could send it, and the letter could reach the ministry. If sent the letter, I would definitely get it tomorrow from the ministry,” he told Banglanews.

Barrister Rumeen Farhana in her letter stated: “With due respect to leaders, activists and well-wishers of my party-BNP, I have withdrawn the letter for Purbachal plot, made in the official format of Parliament on August 3 of 2019. I request the concerned to take necessary steps.”

Earlier on August 3, Rumeen Farhana sent a letter to the Public Works and Housing Minister appealing for a plot from the government. Afterwards, a mass criticism circulated on social media platform over the application, inside and outside BNP supporters. Finally, she has withdrawn the application.
