DHAKA: Rezwanul Haque Chodhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani stepped down as Chhatra League president and general secretary respectively, in face of piles of criticism and controversies drawn by their leadership recent days. 

Al Nahiyan Khan Joy, first vice president of the ruling party's student wing, will act as acting president while Lekhok Bhattacharya, first joint general secretary, will take the charge of acting general secretary.

The decision was disclosed at Awami League's Central Executive Council meeting at Ganabhaban Saturday (September 14).
