DHAKA: Al Nahian Khan Joy, first vice-president of Chhatra League, has been appointed as acting president of the ruling party's student wing.

Lekhak Bhattacharya, first joint general secretary, will take the charge of acting general secretary.

Awami League President also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the orders at Awami League's Central Executive Council meeting at Ganabhaban Saturday (September 14).

Sources from the meeting confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The announcement came after Rezwanul Haque Chodhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani stepped down as Chhatra League president and general secretary respectively, in face of piles of controversies drawn by their leadership recent days.
