CHAPAI NAWABGANJ: A Jubo League activist’s two writs were cut off by rivals of the party in Shibganj of the district over previous enmity.

The incident happened at Jalbazar area of Ujirpur on Wednesday night (September 18).

The victim was identified as Rubel Hossain, son of Khoda Box of Lavangha area under Naylabhanga union of the upzila.

Rubel and his associates claimed Ujirpur Union Parishad Chairman Fayez Ahmed’s men are responsible for this occurrence, but the chairman refused the claim.

According to a local Awami League leader Abdus Salam, Chairman Fayez Ahmed and his men caught Rubel and his two friends--Robiul and Habu--from Jalbazar area around 8 pm on Wednesday. Later, they cut off Rubel’s two writs in a room and set free three of the detainees. At that time, Rubel’s friends informed me.
