DHAKA: Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said no godfathers would be spared.
He said: “The question is not only of Jubo League or Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), but whoever of Awami League commits irregularity-corruption will have to suffer the same consequences. If anyone of the administration or politics is found involved in these misdeeds, they too will be brought to the book. No godfathers will be spared.”
Quader, also the Road, Transport and Bridges Minister made the remarks while talking to journalists after a party meeting held at the Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office in Dhanmondi-32 on Friday (September 20).
In response to a question from the reporters, he said: “We are happy. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's popularity has grown due to the corrective action that is being launched against corruption and irregularities. As a result of this action, the image of the government and the Awami League is shining.”
“The corrective campaign to prevent corruption and irregularities will spread across the country. The campaign will take place everywhere in the country, where there is corruption or irregularities,” he said.
