DHAKA: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has warned that any corrupt element, whoever the person may be, will not be spared.
The minister was talking to journalists after attending fresher reception programme at North South University on Saturday (September 21) noon.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said whoever the person may be - representative of the people or anyone from the administration, no one will be spared." If found involvement with wrongdoing, crime and corruption, the person will be brought to justice based on the evidence”, he pointed out.
“The law enforcers are conducting drives after monitoring activities of those who are doing corruption, breaking the rules, illegally abusing power,” he said, adding that those against whom, we were getting, involvement in immoral acts were being arrested on the basis of evidence.
Replying to a query from journalists regarding Jubo League leader GK Shamim, the Home Minister said how GK Shamim got the job of the government project is separate matter. He is facing trial for all the allegations brought against him. If there are further allegations against him, those will be examined one by one.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sees corruption as a challenge to establish good governance in the country. That is why under her direction, we are conducting a series of drives against corruption.
“Where there are corrupt and law breakers, they will be brought to justice. No one will be able to escape. This is our commitment”, the minister added.
